All around the world, coffee tables are being frequently replaced, upgraded or simply destroyed. Some of the more environmentally-conscious owners will choose to recycle their coffee table, or turn into something more useful. There are hundreds of ways that this can be done, and simply by searching the internet you will be able to find a plethora of information that gives you step by step instructions on how to make alternative use of your unwanted coffee table.
If you do not have the time to re-purpose your coffee table, or just want rid of it as soon as possible, contact Doble Ojo, and we will be happy to take it off your hands.
What we do
Our primary aim is to re-construct coffee tables, and transform them from a damaged or ‘used’ state into what resembles a brand new product, before selling it on. Although this might sound as though we do what we do to make money, we are, in fact, a not-for-profit organisation. The money that we make by re-selling coffee tables only provides us with the income that we need to cover our business expenses (such as vehicle costs, materials, etc). Our goal is to keep unwanted furniture in operation, and we currently do so by working on old coffee tables.
Having decided that you want rid of your coffee table, you then have the burden of deciding what to do with it. Is it worth money? Should you put in on the market and see if you can raise some cash – much needed if you are thinking of forking out a new one. Or, perhaps, you think it would be better to simply take it to the tip and dump it. Have you ever considered, however, that the coffee table might still be of use to another person?
Doble Ojo have considered this option, and work closely with families and other organisations who are in need of furniture and more specifically, coffee tables. After all, one man’s waste is another man’s treasure. We have a large database of people wanting coffee tables and other furniture items, and we want to do our best to help them achieve the best possible home to suit their purpose.
At the same time, we also recognise that many home-owners are constantly looking at ways to improve their homes and are regularly replacing furniture items to achieve their desired house. Doble Ojo therefore act as a middle man, resolving the problems from both buyer and seller. When we collect your unwanted coffee table, we do not charge you a delivery cost and, if the item is in particularly good condition and can be re-sold to cover our expenses, we might even offer you a fair price for your unwanted table. In order to obtain an estimate – or to notify us that you have a table that you no longer need, the first step is to register on our website.
Having registered, we ask you for details of the item (or items) that you wish to sell. If possible, we request that you send in an up to date photograph of the item, to enable us to estimate its worth and place it on our website for potential buyers. After this has been uploaded and your account authorised, we will contact you to notify how much we would be prepared to offer (if anything). Once we have been through this process, we will arrange to collect the coffee table at our earliest possible date. Please note that when we arrive to collect it, we reserve the right to offer you a different amount to the initial estimate, in line with its face value. Unfortunately, some of the photos that we receive do not match the final product when the item is collected.
NB: Please state after registering whether you are looking to make money from your item or if you are just wanting to have it removed. We prioritise those sellers who do not want money for the item, as these can be collected more quickly, before being renovated and found a new home.
Likewise, if you are a homeowner without the financial capability to afford a brand new coffee table, we would also love to hear from you. Please register as a ‘buyer’ from the two options, and you will be added to our waiting list. Although we ask you to state your ideal preference for the coffee table, we cannot always meet your first-choice requirements; we therefore ask that you use our website with an open mind and don’t become too disappointed if the ideal table does not come on to our website.
